About the owner

Georgie Thomson has worn many hats but owning what the Australian Financial Review described as a crumbling Georgian homestead with a rich pioneer history was not one of them. Well, not until she bought Ingleby in 2020.

A farmer by trade, Georgie grew up in Winchelsea and studied at Marcus Oldham College in Geelong. It just so happened Ingleby was the farm next door to hers. When the property came up for sale, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to increase the scale of her farm. A move that meant she also became the next custodian of Ingleby.

Georgie intends to bring Ingleby back to life but stresses it won’t be an overnight transformation.  After getting to know the homestead and farm, she knows too well the challenges old buildings bring. None-the-less, Georgie is determined to leave Ingleby in a better state than when she arrived and once again, make the community part of the property’s vast history.
